Signature treatment
Chinese foot reflexology in Flushing
A warm herbal soak, then patient, zone-by-zone pressure across the soles of your feet. Our most requested treatment, and the heart of Taiji Foot Wellness.
What it is
More than a foot rub
Foot reflexology (足底反射疗法) is a traditional practice built on the idea that specific areas of the feet correspond to other parts of the body. Instead of simply rubbing the feet, the therapist follows a map: the toes, the ball of the foot, the arch, the heel and the edges of each foot are worked in a set order with the thumbs, knuckles and palms.
The result is a deep, rhythmic pressure that many people find more relaxing than a general massage. You stay fully clothed, simply rolling your trousers to the knee, which makes reflexology an easy way to unwind on a lunch break or after a long day.
- Eases tired, aching feet after long hours standing or walking
- Loosens tight calves and stiff ankles
- Helps the whole body relax and the mind slow down
- A calm, fully clothed treatment, comfortable for first-timers
Step by step
How your session unfolds
Herbal foot soak
About ten minutes in warm water with herbs and mineral salts to soften the skin and warm the muscles.
Shoulders first
While you soak, many therapists loosen the neck and shoulders so your upper body can let go too.
Reflex zones
Toes, ball, arch and heel are worked in order. Tell us any time if you want lighter or firmer pressure.
Legs & finish
The calves and shins are kneaded and stretched, then the feet are wrapped warm to close the session.
The soak
Why we start with warm water
Soaking the feet in warm water is one of the oldest habits in Chinese self-care. There is a well-known saying: “Soak your feet every day and you will need less medicine.” Warmth relaxes the muscles of the feet and lower legs, softens the skin and makes the reflexology that follows more comfortable.
Our foot basins are cleaned and sanitized between every guest, and each guest gets fresh towels. If you have open cuts, a skin infection or poor sensation in your feet, please let us know so we can adjust or skip the soak.
Who loves it most
Restaurant and retail workers, nurses, teachers, delivery riders, walkers and runners, and anyone who spends the day on their feet or behind a desk.
