Frequently asked questions

First visit to a Chinese foot spa? Here is everything you might want to know before you come.

What is foot reflexology?

Foot reflexology is a traditional massage practice that applies focused pressure to specific areas of the feet, which are linked to other parts of the body on a reflexology map. At Taiji Foot Wellness each session starts with a warm herbal foot soak, followed by reflexology on both feet and massage of the calves and shoulders. Read more in our reflexology guide.

What should I wear?

Anything comfortable. For foot reflexology you stay fully clothed and just roll your trousers up to the knee, so loose pants are easiest. For clothed Tui Na body massage, soft, loose clothing works best. If you choose an oil massage, you will be draped with towels throughout.

Does reflexology hurt?

It should feel firm and satisfying, never sharp. Some spots, like the arches and heels, can be tender if you stand a lot. Tell your therapist “lighter” or “stronger” at any time and the pressure will be adjusted right away.

How long is a session?

Sessions run 30, 60 or 90 minutes. The 60-minute Herbal Soak & Reflexology and the 60-minute Foot & Body Combo are the most popular choices. See the full treatment menu.

How much does it cost?

Prices depend on the treatment and length you choose, and we sometimes run specials. Please call (347) 588-2168 for current prices and today's availability.

Do I need an appointment?

We recommend calling ahead at (347) 588-2168 so we can have a therapist ready for you, especially on evenings and weekends. You can also send a request through our contact page and we will reply to confirm.

What are your opening hours?

As a new studio our schedule may change, so please call (347) 588-2168 to confirm today's hours before you visit. Follow our Facebook page for updates.

Can I get a foot massage while pregnant?

Please talk with your doctor first, and always tell us if you are pregnant. Many therapists avoid certain points during pregnancy and especially in the first trimester. We will adjust the treatment or recommend waiting if that is the safer choice.

Is massage safe if I have a health condition?

Massage is for relaxation and general wellbeing, not a medical treatment. If you have diabetes with reduced feeling in the feet, blood clots, heart conditions, open wounds, recent injuries or recent surgery, please check with your doctor first and let your therapist know before the session.

Can I come with a friend or partner?

Yes. Foot reflexology is a lovely thing to share. Call ahead and we will do our best to seat you side by side at the same time.

Do you speak Chinese?

Yes. Our team serves guests in both English and Chinese (我们提供中文服务). This website is also available in 中文.

Where are you and how do I get there?

We are at 133-02 41st Road, Flushing, NY 11355, in Flushing Chinatown just off Main Street. The Flushing–Main St 7 train station and the Flushing LIRR station are a short walk away. See directions from around Queens.
